France. I fell head over heels for this country like a giddy young girl. Newly married to an MBA student at the INSEAD business school, brimming with colourful expectations, I eagerly embraced the beauty, flavours and aromas with wide-eyed wonder and a heart full of joy. And, oh! The beauty seemed endless.

Then reality hit. Whenever we could break free from the chaos of life, we found ourselves back in France — first just the two of us, then with our daughter, and later with our son. Then the pandemic struck and, before we knew it, we were on the last flight to London just before air travel ground to a halt.

England. It was a place I had never quite pictured myself in. Initially, I compared the romantic lavender fields of Provence to the quintessential English pubs, which were worlds apart. But I soon discovered the unique delights of English lavender and so much more.

I have a passion for cooking and have gathered a treasure trove of gastronomic experiences from both countries, and I wholeheartedly share the best of both in this book. Picture yourself on the Eurostar, travelling from London to Paris and back again with every turn of the page. Each story comes with a recipe just waiting to be savoured.

Enjoy and bon appétit!
